Boom Days

Leadville’s oldest continual event begins on Thursday evening and goes through Sunday afternoon the first weekend in August. Featuring a large parade, street races and mining events, this event celebrates Leadville’s Victorian heritage and rough and tumble history.


Leadville’s Trail 100 Ultra-marathon

has taken its place among the toughest 100-mile races in the country, with over 600 runners from all over the country.

Leadville Railroad

Leadville, Colorado and Southern Railroad

is the former Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad (DSP&P) whose tracks reached Leadville in 1884. Today the train leaves from Leadville’s century-old depot and travels over the old Colorado & Southern high line, following the headwaters of the Arkansas River up to a spectacular view of Fremont Pass.
